Black History Month is an important celebration in the diversity and inclusion calendar, celebrated throughout the month of October annually. Raising awareness of the achievements that Black people have made throughout history, the month also aims to eliminate racism that unfortunately continues to exist in society. In a world where there was 85,268 racially motivated hate crimes in 2020/21 and a 73% increase in race and nationality hate crimes, it is vitally important that we strive to eliminate racism and achieve equality for the Black community.
