Gender Equality & Equity

Achieving true gender equality is vital for fostering environments where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive. Although progress has been made, significant disparities persist in areas such as the workplace, education, healthcare, and mental health.

In the UK, while women hold 40% of board positions in FTSE 100 companies, only 34% of executive roles are occupied by women. Globally, women are underrepresented in STEM, with just 28% participation. Men, meanwhile, face unique challenges, accounting for 75% of suicides worldwide, often due to societal pressures and unaddressed mental health issues. In education, boys are 50% less likely than girls to achieve reading proficiency by age 15. Non-binary and gender non-conforming individuals also face significant barriers, with one-third reporting workplace discrimination in the UK and 58% of transgender people delaying healthcare due to fear of mistreatment.

Addressing these inequalities is crucial to creating fair opportunities for all, regardless of gender.
