Award-winning diversity consultant, Aisha Suleiman is transforming workplace culture through her proven strategies of developing effective employee networks. A change agent in her field, Aisha has extensive experience in reaching corporate diversity goals and highlighting under-representation of minority groups in business. Developing a reputation as a leader, Aisha has pioneered two of her own ventures, firstly founding The World in Her Words in 2019. Empowering women to take control of their own careers, The World in Her Words is a unique community created for Black women and women of colour to support each other through inspiring stories and advice sharing. Most recently, Aisha has founded The Inclusive Culture, which helps organisations to achieve their diversity, inclusion and business goals through effective employee networks. In 2021, she launched an online course on how to start an employee network.
With a professional background in HR and personal experience of the challenges faced by those from ethnic minority backgrounds, Aisha naturally became a corporate authority on tackling the issue. Joining Amazon Web Services in 2016, Aisha impressed at every level in her role, eventually being made Education Program Manager, responsible for a global program that helps students gain key skills in cloud computing. During her time at Amazon, Aisha founded the Black Employee Network for the company, starting from scratch in 2017 and building the network into an organization that now has a significant impact on Amazon’s diversity and inclusion strategy.
Currently, Aisha continues to spearhead her consultancy in addition to being an Inclusion Board Member of the Rugby Football League. Named amongst the Investing in Ethnicity Top 8 Future Leaders, and the EMpower 100 Ethic Minority Future Leaders in 2020, Aisha’s influence on corporate diversity is undeniable. At events, she is able to discuss actionable strategies for gaining and retaining the best talent across a diverse spectrum, futureproofing your business.
