Sharmadean Reid

Sharmadean Reid is a leading female entrepreneur, on a mission to create social and economic empowerment for women through mediums of technology and media. Famed as the founder of WAH London Ltd and The Stack World, Sharmadean shares her knowledge across beauty, wellness, culture, business and society to create spaces for ambitious and intelligent women. Determined to make the world a more inclusive place, Sharmadeen is now booked as a diversity & inclusion speaker for a range of events.

Graduating from the University of the Arts London with a BA in Fashion Communication, Sharmadean began her career as a Sportswear Editor for Arena Homme Plus. Working here for four years, she then went on to become an Energy Marketing Manager for Nike and a brand consultant/ stylist for ASOS. Whilst working for such firms, Sharmadean founded her own company, founding WAH as a hip hop magazine in 2006 and later founding WAH Nails London Ltd in 2009. Combining a millennial voice with feminist attitudes, WAH was immensely successful and Sharmadean was able to open her own salon in London in 2016.

Sharmadean is also the co-founder of Beautystack, a visual market platform on which beauty professionals can network, and has acted as the CEO of Beautystack since 2017. Sharmadean has also authored her own books, writing the titles New Methods for Women: A Fresh Perspective on Life, Work and Relationships, The WAH Book of Downtown Girls and The WAH Book of Nail Art. Most recently, in 2021, Sharmadean became the founder of The Stack World, a platform for women to women services that drives commerce. She also shares her time with organising events for young female entrepreneurs, as part of futuregirlcorp.com.

Passionate about empowering women both socially and economically, Sharmadeen is now booked as a speaker for a range of diversity and inclusion themed events. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Sharmadean ran campaigns with the UK Government, increasing awareness of the Beauty Pro experience and solidifying her empowering voice in the beauty industry. She has also spoken on topics beyond beauty, offering mental health support throughout the pandemic and beyond. Empowering the next generation of powerful female entrepreneurs, Sharmadean Reid is a fantastic D&I speaker to encourage the empowerment and inclusion of women in all walks of life.
