Katrina Marshall has been at the forefront of the PR, journalism and communications industry for twenty years. Katrina has worked in broadcasting, media production including as a BBC World Service producer, a contributor to The Guardian and other leading media organisations. Founding Member of the PRCA Race & Ethnicity Board, Katrina is motivated to raise awareness about diversity, inclusion and equity, intersectionality and culture. She is now available to hire as a keynote speaker for a wide range of events.

Katrina’s educational qualifications include a BA in Media Studies & Communications from De Montfort University. Early in her career, Katrina dove into on-screen roles such as Co-Anchor of Mornin’ Barbados and Television Host for political analysis programme The People’s Business. Katrina’s abilities as a presenter and journalist were evident in her role as News Anchor for the Caribbean Media Corporation, where her news programme was broadcast across 14 countries. As a Public Relations Executive for Red Advertising & Marketing, Katrina’s responsibilities included drafting communications for crisis management and liaising with the media frequently. She has also been a Content Writer for Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc, Communicate Magazine and a Senior Writer for Melanmag.com.

Katrina is also an outspoken advocate for diversity, equity and inclusion, often bringing attention to ways in which representation for marginalised groups can be increased. Her writing often highlights issues related to the Black & LGBTQ community. Having delivered anti-racism and PR lectures to several universities, Katrina is a regular choice to invite for a wide range of podcasts. Today, she conducts workshops at organisations to help them create a more inclusive environment for their diverse employees. In 2021 Katrina was also asked to be a Judge for the PRCA DARE Awards.

After serving as a Communications Officer for the Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust, Katrina has recently returned to the realm of live event production and as a showcaller, given her expertise in the field. As a keynote speaker, Katrina brings light to vital topics such as racial diversity, equity and inclusion, intersectionality and cultural awareness, in and outside a corporate setting.
