Geffrye parsons, more commonly known as ‘Geff’, is the former Managing Director of Macquarie Group and is the CEO & Founder of the Inclusion Imperative. Geff is a diversity, equity and inclusion consultant as well as a coach, speaker and writer. He is driven by his passion for promoting LGBTQ+ inclusion which has resulted in several awards.
In 1986, Geff graduated from Brunel University London with a BA (Hons) in English & History from which he started his career as an Assistant Audit Manager at Shipleys LLP where he spent just over 4 years. Geff has an extensive logbook of experience in the world of financial services operating in roles such as Senior Audit Manager at KPMG as well as Director, Head of Financial Engineering Asia for ABN AMRO later taking on a similar role at ING Bank where he achieved a Master’s Degree in International Management.
Geff spent almost 9 years in Managing Director roles at Macquarie Bank where he also co-chaired the LGBTQ+ network. Under Geff’s stewardship, Macquarie won the inaugural PinkNews Business Equality Award in 2018 as well as being shortlisted as a Top Ten Inclusive Employer by the British LGBT Awards 2022. However, Geff’s biggest achievement from his efforts was taking Macquarie from being ranked more than 300th to being ranked 1st, in Stonewall’s Workplace Equality Index officially making Macquarie the UK’s most LGBTQ+ friendly workplace in 2022 as well as becoming the headline sponsor of the British LGBT Awards until 2024. Alongside his success for Macquarie, Geff has also achieved personal success through his activities regarding the promotion of LGBTQ+ inclusion winning a plethora of individual awards. Some of Geff’s most notable achievements include being named as the LGBT+ Inspirational leader at the British LGBT Awards in 2019 and being ranked in the top quartile of the list of the Top 100 LGBTQ+ Executives globally in 2018,2019 and 2021. More recently, Geff has founded and is the CEO of The Inclusion Imperative from which he delivers speaking, training, coaching and mentoring services as well as volunteering as a Board Trustee for GiveOUT and Diversity Role Models alongside his duties as a founding board member at Pride in Tennis.
