Emmanuel Kelly

Emmanuel Kelly is an internationally recognised Australian singer-songwriter, inclusion advocate and changemaker whose extraordinary personal journey has made him one of the most compelling voices on diversity, equity and inclusion. Born with underdeveloped limbs after prenatal exposure to chemical warfare, Emmanuel was abandoned on a battlefield in Iraq before being rescued, adopted by humanitarian Moira Kelly and given the opportunity to rebuild his life in Australia. Today, he uses his platform to challenge perceptions of disability, champion representation, and inspire organisations to build cultures where difference is recognised as a strength rather than a limitation.

Emmanuel first captured worldwide attention with his unforgettable performance of John Lennon’s Imagine on Australia’s The X Factor. The audition generated more than 500 million social media views and launched a music career that has seen him collaborate with acclaimed artists including Quincy Jones, Snoop Dogg and JK Simmons. He has performed at prestigious venues such as the Sydney Opera House and the MGM Grand Arena before joining Chris Martin on stage at Telethon, a partnership that developed into both a close friendship and a shared commitment to creating greater opportunities within the entertainment industry. Together, they helped establish Outlyer Entertainment, a talent agency, record label and production company dedicated to increasing opportunities for differently abled performers and creatives. Emmanuel also joined Coldplay on their Music for the Spheres tour following the release of his EP No Zodiac.

Alongside his musical achievements, Emmanuel continues to break barriers for disabled artists on the global stage. Recognised by Spotify as one of Australia’s 30 most influential artists, he became the first disabled performer to appear at the FIFA Club World Cup halftime show alongside Chris Martin, Doja Cat, J Balvin and Tems. He also became the first disabled artist to perform on the main stage at the Isle of Wight Festival. His EP No Zodiac reached number three in the vinyl charts and was named one of Australia’s top ten releases by Rolling Stone. Emmanuel has also appeared at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Peace One Day concert at Wembley Arena, while his remarkable life story is documented in the film Dream Fever.
