Mark Lomas is a globally recognised DEI leader and speaker, currently serving as Head of Culture, Talent and Communities at Lloyd’s of London. Known for delivering systemic and measurable approaches to diversity, equity and inclusion, Mark has led the design of award-winning frameworks that integrate inclusion into core business strategy. His work spans multiple sectors, and he is widely respected for transforming DEI from a compliance function into a driver of organisational performance, making him a highly sought-after speaker for forward-thinking organisations.

Mark’s career began at Shaw Trust, where, as National Equality and Diversity Manager, he developed and delivered initiatives to improve access to employment for underrepresented groups. He later founded Muchwork Ltd, working as Managing Consultant and Director to advise organisations on leadership development, organisational change and inclusive strategy. During this time, he also served as Equality and Diversity Manager at The Law Society, supporting the implementation of the Diversity and Inclusion Charter. His move to the BBC as Diversity Manager marked a significant step in his career, where he led high-impact inclusion programmes and was selected for the Director-General’s BBC/CLORE Leadership Programme, recognising his leadership potential in the cultural sector.

Mark went on to join HS2 as Head of Diversity and Inclusion and HR Operations, where he embedded DEI into large-scale infrastructure delivery, contributing to the organisation achieving Clear Assured Platinum Accreditation. He later became Organisational Design Programme Manager, further strengthening his expertise in aligning people strategy with business transformation. At Lloyd’s of London, Mark has led the creation of integrated talent, succession, performance and leadership development frameworks, delivered the organisation’s Culture Strategy 2022–27, and established a significant partnership with Johns Hopkins University to explore and address historical inequalities linked to the transatlantic slave trade. Alongside his executive role, he has served as a Non-Executive Director at NHS Property Services, chairing the people and culture committee.

As a DEI speaker, Mark Lomas is valued for his ability to translate complex inclusion challenges into clear, actionable strategies. A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, he has received numerous accolades, including the ENEI Inclusive Procurement Initiative Award, Head of Diversity of the Year at the Inclusive Companies Awards, the VERCIDA Inclusive Initiative of the Year Award, the iCAN Role Model Award, the Race Equality Matters Change Maker Award and the HR Brilliance Award, alongside recognition in multiple global D&I powerlists.
