Shazia Hussain has recently been making waves in the business world, raising awareness about neurodivergent people, and how they can succeed in the world of business, despite the stigma surrounding it. Throughout her fruitful career, Shazia has worked in some of the largest companies in the UK including Accenture, Bupa, Barclays and JP Morgan. Since gaining her bachelor’s degree in media and communication from the University of London Shazia has been working in recruitment and now has over a decade of experience in digital and media placements in the financial services and technology sector. Some of Shazia’s notable roles include being the Technology Sales and Recruitment Specialist for Cassium Technologies, the Head of Sales and Recruitment for Harte Solutions, Lead Talent Acquisition Consultant for Accenture UK, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Barclays and the Lead Recruiter for Chase.
Diagnosed with dyslexia, dyspraxia, a memory issue and ADHD, Shazia understands more than most, the stereotypes which come with being neurodivergent. Shazia, however, learnt to utilise her differences to her advantage and now believes her uniqueness makes her stand out from the crowd and is an asset in the corporate world. As a woman working in the world of technology, Shazia has first-hand experience of the difficulties which many women face in a male-dominated industry.
