Oscar Davies is an award-winning barrister and a leading voice in the field of diversity and inclusion as the UK’s first publicly acknowledged non-binary barrister. Currently practising at Garden Court Chambers, Oscar specialises in employment, education, LGBTQIA+ and human rights, commercial, and property law. They were recognised as a Tier 1 ‘Rising Star’ in The Legal 500 and have spoken at events and panels for organisations such as Revlon, Solicitors Regulation Authority, Inner Temple, and various universities.
Holding a BA Hons in French and History from King’s College London, Oscar completed their Graduate Diploma in Law and subsequently passed the Bar Professional Training Course, both achieved at City St George’s, University of London. After various positions in the field of law, Oscar was a practising Barrister at Lamb Chambers prior to their current position.
Oscar was named in the 2022 British LGBT Awards “Top 10 Outstanding Contributions to LGBT+ Life”. In 2024 alone, they won LGBTQ+ Champion of the Year at the Legal 500 ESG Awards and were a finalist for both DE&I Rising Star of the Year and Young Pro Bono Barrister of the Year. They were also included in the prestigious Pro Bono Recognition List of England & Wales 2024. Oscar is also writing a forthcoming book on non-binary legal recognition. They have been interviewed by The Times, Reuters, Pink News, and more, and have even briefed MPs in Parliament on the Supreme Court ‘For Scottish Women’ case.
