Former Member of Parliament turned diversity strategist, Oona King, has supported some of the world’s biggest companies in becoming progressive, inclusive employers. From her history-defining career in commons to becoming a global voice in the fight for equality, Oona’s influence is undeniable. As a seasoned speaker, Oona educates audiences on the benefits of corporate diversity, to team morale, loyalty and business profitability.

Throughout her professional career, Oona has consistently broken-down barriers, rising to prominence firstly as an MP for the constituency of Bethnal Green & Bow. As only the 200th woman in history to be elected to UK parliament and the second black woman, Oona has made her mark as a determined leader of change. For eight years she represented her constituency, before transitioning into the role of Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister on Equalities. Responsible for the development of the pioneering 2010 Equality Act, Oona was created a life peer in 2011 in honour of her work.

Moving into the private sector, Oona has worked extensively with global corporate brands spanning numerous sectors. Through her positions as the Head of Diversity for Channel 4, Global Director of Diverse Marketing for YouTube and Director of Diversity Strategy for Google, Oona has implemented a long-lasting change to the companies’ culture. Currently, Oona is acting as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for Snap Inc, replicating her success for yet another industry leader.

Despite her evident professional success, Oona has had to overcome personal adversity as a black woman in leadership. Using these experiences to inspire her talks, Oona offers implementable advice to individuals and corporate clients as a diversity and inclusion speaker, creating effective change.
