Oliver Lam-Watson

Oliver Lam-Watson is a four-time Paralympic medallist, Double European Champion, and a prominent advocate for disability inclusion. His remarkable journey from overcoming significant physical challenges to excelling on the global stage in wheelchair fencing has made him a sought-after keynote speaker, inspiring audiences to embrace resilience and break through barriers.

Born with Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome, a condition affecting his left leg, Oliver was told that competitive sports were beyond his reach. However, his tenacity led him to initially pursue a degree in architecture. Though successful in that field, he soon found his passion in advocating for social change and disability inclusion. His competitive spirit came to life through sports, starting with Spartan Races and eventually leading him to discover wheelchair fencing in 2018.

Despite an unconventional entry into the sport, Oliver’s international career in wheelchair fencing quickly took off. His achievements include winning silver and bronze medals at both the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. In 2022, Oliver was crowned Double European Champion, securing gold in Team Épée and Team Foil. He has also earned bronze at the IWAS World Championships and consistently podium finishes at World Cup events.
