Throughout her career, Michelle has been a dedicated HR professional. She began her career working as a Human Resources Consultant for PwC, before moving on to become a Senior Human Resource Business Partner for Fonterra and a Workforce Strategy & Performance Manager for BHP Billiton. She has also worked as a Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Manager for BHP Billiton, expanding her knowledge of creating positive workplace cultures that foster equality and inclusion. Dedicated to the acceleration of achieving gender equality in the workplace, Michelle is also the author of The Fix: How to Overcome The Invisible Barriers That Are Holding Women Back at Work and the Host of The Fix Podcast.
A passionate advocate for gender equality, Michelle has also formerly worked as the Head of Integrated Strategy for Gender Innovation & GICC and the Senior Manager of Development, Diversity and Employee Engagement for UN Women. She has also been an Advisory Board Member of the Girl Up United Nations Foundation and the Director of Inclusion for Netflix, integrating inclusion into the practices of the worldwide streaming platform. Now, she is the Founder and Managing Director of Equality Forward, a company dedicated to the encouragement of cultures of equality in the workplace.
Recognised with the 2019 Inspiring Innovator Award from Women Tech Founders and the 2020 Axiom Business Book Awards Silver Medal, Michelle is now booked as a diversity and inclusion speaker for a range of corporate events.
