Kate Muir is a passionate Scottish campaigner, who is dedicated to increasing awareness of the Menopause. Eliminating patriarchal stigma, Kate is the author of Everything You Need To Know About The Menopause (But Were Too Afraid To Ask) and an activist for The Menopause Charity. After enjoying a successful career as the Chief Film Critic for The Times, a Columnist for The Times in Washington, New York and Paris and an author of the books West Coast, Left Bank and Suffragette City, Kate has dedicated her career to Menopause advocacy. Abolishing misplaced shame caused by centuries of patriarchy, Kate helps both women and health care professionals to better understand the emotional and physical effects of the Menopause. Currently working as a Producer for Finestripe Productions, Kate was the Co-Producer of Davina McCall: Sex, Myths and the Menopause in 2021, and Davina McCall: Sex, Mind and the Menopause in 2022. She has also been interviewed in Parliament on Menopause and mental health and worked with MP Carolyn Harris to change the laws surrounding Menopause.

Smashing through patriarchal stigma, in 2022 Kate authored the book Everything You Need To Know About The Menopause (But Were Too Afraid To Ask). She is also an activist for Time’s Up UK, a charity fighting for the end of sexual harassment of women in the workplace, and a campaigner for Birds’ Eye View, an organisation screening and distributing female-led films. As an expert on the Menopause, Kate has also delivered The Menopause Roadshow at the Hay Literary Festival, and worked as a Member of the Newson Health Menopause Society, researching Menopause care. Continually fighting for equality for women, Kate reveals the answers hidden behind a veil of shame and bad science, misconceptions created by centuries of patriarchy.
