Claire Danson is an inspiring diversity and inclusion speaker whose story captivates audiences and motivates them to embrace resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Claire’s journey began in the world of triathlon, where she excelled as a competitor. In 2019, she became a GB Age Group Triathlon Champion and went on to claim the title of European Age Group Champion in the same year. Her remarkable talent also saw her win the London Triathlon and the Staffordshire Ironman 70.3. However, her life took an unexpected turn later that year when a devastating accident left her paralysed. Instead of succumbing to despair, Claire used her experience to carve a new path as a para-athlete, turning her challenges into an opportunity to redefine both her own life and the narrative around disability.
Since then, Claire has achieved an incredible array of accomplishments as a para-athlete. She has completed the longest single-day triathlon, cycled from London to Paris, and represented Great Britain as part of the national hand cycling team. Her athletic feats also include sit-skiing in Colorado and completing the Ironman Turkey 70.3. Claire’s dedication led to her participation in the 2023 UCI World Championships, World Cups in Belgium and Italy, and becoming a Circuit TT National Hand Cycling Champion. In addition to her sporting triumphs, she starred in the Red Bull documentary Limit/less, further amplifying her message of perseverance and inclusivity. With her sights now set on competing in the 2028 Paralympics in Los Angeles, Claire continues to push boundaries and inspire others.
